Kessenich, Edith (30 APR 1890 - 24 SEP 1940)

Funeral services were conducted this morning, Thursday, Sept. 26, for Mrs. Peter Kessenich from Sacred Heart Church at Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), the Rev. Father C.D. Brady officiating at the service. Interment was made at the Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Kessenich, the mother of six children, was 50 years of age at the time of her departure from these earthly surroundings.

She was one of the eight children of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ehlert, both of whom are deceased, and was born on April 20, 1890, at Packwaukee, where she enjoyed the childhood days of her life.

On Jan. 8, 1913, at Morristown, S.D., she exchanged the holy vows of matrimony with Peter Kessenich. The couple made their home at Morristown for 16 years and in 1924 they and their family moved to their present home at Longwood (Clark Co.), where she has enjoyed the love of her family and home. The fine qualities of a woman and her love of her church and her services to the Altar Guild, showed her fine character and won for her a shot of friends, who were sorrowed by her passing, and her three weeks illness, prior to her departure.

She leaves her husband, Peter; daughters, Mrs. M.R. Capes (Florence) of Milwaukee, Margaret and Joan, who are at home; and three sons, Arnold of Waunakee, Ill., and John and Gilbert, both of whom are at home; and many dear friends and relatives, to survive her passing.

Pallbearers at the service were Jesse Capes, Arthur Hansen, Herman Luraas, Cornelius Driscoll, Frank Grant and Minus Munson.
