Palmerton, Marian (14 Feb. 1926 - 19 Dec. 2005)

Marian Palmerton

COLBY -- Marian Palmerton, 74, Colby, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at House of the Dove in Marshfield.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford, Wis. The Rev. Mara Theno will conduct a prayer service at 7 p.m. following the visitation Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery at a later date.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family. Marian was born Feb. 14, 1926, in Kansas City, Mo., to Vern and Anna (Rasmussen) Snell. Marian and Dale Palmerton were married Oct. 10, 1943, in Albert Lea, Minn. They farmed in Iowa and in Colby, Wis. She also worked for Figi's in Marshfield. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Colby, Wis.

Marian is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dale Palmerton of Colby; her children, Gary (Karen) Palmerton of Menomonie, Russell (Judy) Palmerton of Abbotsford, Joyce (Alan) Hoernke of Stratford and Kent (Barb) Palmerton of Colby; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glen Snell of Mason City, Iowa, and Verlyn Snell of Overland Park, Kan.; and one sister, Bonnie Bergman of Mason City, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Morris Snell and Dean Snell.
