Krauter, Luella (Ladwig) (08 Jun 1912 - 06 Nov 2007)

Luella Krauter, 95, Watertown, formerly of Colby, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at the home of her daughter in Watertown under the care of River Care Hospice.

She was born June 8, 1912, in Ckolby to Frank and Emma (Krum) Ladwig.

She graduated from Colby, Wis. High School. After graduation, she furthered her education becoming a teacher. She taught in the rural Colby Schools and for 30 plus years at Zion Lutheran Christian School in Colby, Wis.

Luella and Arnold Krauter were married June 14, 1941. Arnold preceded her in death.

She enjoyed playing cards and fishing.

Luella is survived by her children, Carol (Karl) Kapke, Pelican Lake, Sandra (William) Schroeder, Brown Deer, Gary (Deborah) Krauter, Colby, and Linda (William) Baurichter, Watertown; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lila Anderson, Spencer and Clara Westberg, Marshfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Arnold.

Funeral services were held Nov. 10 at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, Wis. The Rev. Mark Neumann presided. Burial was in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were Scott Schroeder, Mark Schroeder, Matthew Krauter, Joshua Krauter, Steven Simons and Russell Simons. Honorary pallbearer was Jason Schroeder.

Maurina-Community Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
