Uhlig, Emil (31 Jan. 1913 - 18 Nov. 2007)

Emil Uhlig, 94, Dorchester, died on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at his town of Mayville residence.

Services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery in Curtiss, with Mr. Ron Uhlig presiding.

Emil was born Jan 31, 1913, the son of Gustave and Frieda (Teichert) Uhlig, in Colby, Wis.

He and Ellen Klemetson were united in marriage on Nov. 24, 1934, in Curtiss, Wis.

They farmed in the Town of Mayville and have resided there ever since. He also was employed with Al Uhlig Construction as a carpenter for many years.

He was a member of the Dorchester Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Survivors include his wife Ellen Uhlig, Dorchester; one son, Delbert (Nancy) Uhlig, Colby; two daughters, Annette (Dale) Ellison, Ignacio, CO, and Elaine (Dan) Abel, Dorchester; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and one brother, Alvin Uhlig, Abbotsford, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Valoris; and brothers.

Maurina/Community Funeral Homes of Abbotsford assisted the family with arrangements.
