Milan - Feb. 4, 1943

Mrs. Arthur Bub will be hostess to the Milan Women’s Club on next Thursday afternoon, Febraury 18th.

Werner Schaefer and family and Anthony Vesely and family spent Sunday at the Joseph Vesely family home at Athens.

Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Merrill arrived here Monday from Stevens Point for several days’ visit at the home of their son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Eskritt.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hannemann spent Sunday at the home of the former’s brother, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hannemann, at Marathon.

Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Mantik and son, David, visited at the home of Mrs. Mantik’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Sievert at Gleason, Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Schade spent Sunday at the homes of their son in laws and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. George Krepsky and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brandt at Colby, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Marquardt entertained their pinochle club at the home Friday evening and at the same time celebrated the birthday anniversary of Mrs. Marquardt’s mother, Mrs. William Krause. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Arnold Kallien and Herman Denzine, high; Mrs. William Krause and Ernest Kramer, second; and Mrs. Frank Haderlein and Hugo Bargenquast, the booby. A midnight supper was served.

Charles Huhn and son, Neal, of Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Brotherton and daughter, Iris, were dinner guests at the Ferdinand Huhn home Sunday.
