Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Wood are the parents of a baby boy born Thursday, March 11, at Eau Claire Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Volovsek of Milwaukee, Wis., and Margie and Anna Volovsek, who are employed at Marshfield, spent last weekend with their home folks.

Friends and relatives helped Mr. Fred Marg celebrate her birthday last Tuesday night.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Scheel purchased the former Paul Fetchner farm.

Mr. and Mrs. Dill Dolasse have rented the former Art Manthey farm. Mrs. Bill Dolasse was the former Hazel Schwamb.

The Dewey Walkers had wood sawyers last Thursday.

Charles Asplin underwent an operation at Madison recently.

Mrs. Alvin Ehlers of Christie assisted her mother, Mrs. Frank Morgal, for a day.

Pvt. Donald Thoma, who is stationed in Washington, spent his 15-day furlough with relatives here. His father, Art Thoma, of Berlin, Wis., spent the weekend here with his sons.

Friends helped Mr. Fretenberg of Tioga celebrate his birthday a week ago Friday night.

George Podrovitz of Chicago purchased the former Albert Voight farm.

Mr. Trybula of Willard purchased some hay from Fred Timmler.

Mrs. Arthur Wegner visited with Mrs. Albert Prill last week.

Joe Tolaney of Willard is doing the chores at the Tolaney home while; John is leaving for two weeks’ visit in Illinois.

Army Air Cadet, John Volk, of San Antonio, Texas, who was home on a furlough, and John Tolaney left for Chicago from Eau Claire.

Frank Morgal and Ludwig Perushek baled hay last week.
