Roehl, Herman Frederick (13 May 1882 - 1 Jun 1943)

Herman Frederick Roehl died Tuesday, June 1, at his home near Chili. His age was 61 years and 18 days. The funeral took lace Friday, the Rev. Arthur Laesch officiating. Interment was in Windfall Cemetery.

Mr. Roehl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Roehl at Lake Mills on May 13, 1882. He came to Clark County in 1906 with his parents, settling on a farm near Granton. He was married to Clara Ackerman, February 20, 1908. They lived on a farm in the town of York for a time, and then moved to another place near Chili. In 1916, they bought the farm upon which they lived when Mr. Roehl died.

Surviving are Mrs. Roehl; seven sons, Glenn, Alvin, Carl and Leo of Fremont, Russell and Harvey, town of York, Walter, town of Lynn; three daughters, Mrs. Vera Levandusky, Lila Roehl and Evelyn Roehl. One child died in infancy. There are 13 grandchildren. Three sisters survive - Mrs. Henry Miller, Beaver Dam; Mrs. Fred Ziebell, town of Levis; Mrs. Albert Dischados, Waterloo, Wis. Two brothers - William Roehl, town of York, and Frak, Almond.

Pallbearers were Albert Lindow, Arthur Lindow, Wesley Hayden, Ray Dorst, Roy Jennings and Adolph Foemmel. Flower girls were Evelyn and Mildred Sanger, Naomi Hayden and Geneva Lindow. Hymns were sung by Mrs. William Schmidtke and Miss Gertrude Holmes.
