Mews, Verna R. (Marriage - 5 June 1943)

Verna R. Mews, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mews, and Ervin O. Kademan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmond Kademan, were united in marriage, Saturday, June 5th, at the Zion Ev. Lutheran parsonage in Colby, Rev. O. Hoffmann reading the marriage ceremony. Delores Mews was maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Ruth Mews and Ethel Mews. The groom was attended by Ray Anderson as best man and Joe Van Slett and Lenhart Jaunch.

The bride was attired in a becoming button back model gown of white organdie, sweetheart neckline and a crown-headed finger tip veil. She also wore a pearl necklace, a gift of the groom. Her arm bouquet consisted of calla lilies. The maid of honor wore a frock of button back yellow brocaded organdie, sweetheart neckline and an accented pearl necklace, a gift of the bride. Her wrist corsage consisted of sweet peas and lilies of the valley. The bridesmaids were attired in frocks of blue marquisette and both wore a pearl necklace, gifts of the bride. Their wrist corsages consisted of sweet peas and lilies of the valley.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, the home being nicely decorated with white, blue and yellow streamers and cut flowers.

The couple will be at home after June 10th at Colby where the groom is employed by the H. H. Motor Co.

Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Kademan and Mrs. Delos Kobs of Sawyer, Mrs. Tony Kohlbeck and Miss Helen Wendl of Marshfield, Misses Ruth and Ethel Mews of Milwaukee, Miss Ethel Kauffman of Abbotsford and Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Kademan and Arthur Van Slett of Colby, Wis.
