Sukup, Rose (Marriage - 19 June 1943)

An impressive military wedding took place Saturday evening, June 19th, at the Maxwell Field Chapel with Father Ryan officiating when Miss Rose Sukup, formerly of Colby, and Cadet Richard Buran exchanged marriage vows. One of the musical selections rendered was Ave Maria. The bride entered with Lieutenant Pierce by whom she was given in marriage. Her wedding gown was white marquisette and lace with a finger tip veil. Her arm bouquet was of mixed white flowers showered with narrow satin ribbons.

Mrs. Harold Schowalter, the former Beatrice O’Connor, was the maid of honor and only attendant of the bride. She wore a gown fashioned with blue set over satin. Her arm bouquet consisted of mixed flowers in pastel shades. Cadet Harold Schowalter of Milwaukee, also stationed at Maxwell Field, was best man.

Cadet Richard Buran is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Buran of Milwaukee. He is a graduate of Marquette University, school of engineering. At present, he is stationed at Maxwell Field, Montgomery, Ala.

After the ceremony, the bridal party marched under the traditional arch of sabers formed by the cadet classmates. A reception at the Whitley Hotel followed the ceremony.

Mrs. Richard Buran will make her home near the field where her husband is stationed.
