Frome, Mr./Mrs. Henry (50th Anniv. - 1 July 1943)

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Frome of Colby celebrated their fiftieth or golden wedding anniversary Thursday, July 1st, at the home of their oldest son, Edwin. Out of town people here for the event were Mrs. John Dreger and son, Jack, and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Frome, Jr., of Los Angeles, Calif., Emma Schreiber and Mary Arline Kleinfelt of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Herts of Edgar, Sgt. Orvin Frome of Lake Geneva, Victoria Bethke of Oshkosh, Mr. and Mrs. August Schueler, Mrs. Clarence Gosse and son, Maynard, Mr. and Mrs. James Arschambo and daughter, Mary, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kaufman and children, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Laack and children and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hertz and family, all of Abbotsford, Wis., and Gordon Mellenthin and Lucille Dehne of Unity, Wis.

Mr. Frome was born in Hancock, Michigan, on Nov. 11, 1866, and came to Colby in 1883 and engaged in farming. Mrs. Frome was born in Lamira, Dodge county, Wisconsin on October 18, 1870, and came to Colby in 1877. They were married in the town of Colby on July 1, 1893.

They are numbered among the old pioneers of Colby, who, by hard and diligent work, helped build the fine farms in this community.

They have six children - Edwin L. Frome, Wallis Frome, Theodore Frome and Henry Frome, all of Colby, Mrs. John Dreger of Los Angeles, Calif., and Sgt. Orvin Frome of Lake Geneva, Wis. Also nine grand children and two great grand children.
