Jerome H. Kasper

Jerome H. Kasper, 69, formerly of N7255 Winnebago Drive, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at Grancare Nursing Home, where he had been a resident for the past four months.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1936, in Unity, Wis., the son of Harold A. and Fern E. Laabs Kasper. He graduated from Colby, Wis. High School in Colby in 1955. Later, he took a dairy course in cheese making at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received a diploma. Shortly thereafter, he passed the requirements for his license as a cheese maker. He made cheese at his parents' factory until it was sold in 1965. In 1966, he moved to Fond du Lac, where he was employed as a cheese making supervisor at Tolibia Cheese Co. until his retirement in 2003.

He was never married. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962.

Surviving are a brother, Kenneth (Joanne) Kasper of Unity; a sister, Betty Ann (Allen) Nienow of Janesville; nieces and nephews; and very special friends, David (Mary) Porter and their family of Fond du Lac.

His parents preceded him in death.
