Vyonne Moore

COLBY -- Vyonne Larson Moore, 71, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

The funeral in Wisconsin will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, at First United Church of Christ, Colby, with visitation the hour before. The Rev. Kenneth Dix will officiate. There also will be a funeral at United Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake, Minn., on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2006.

Interment will be in Ness Lutheran Cemetery, Elbow Lake, Minn. Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Vyonne Larson was born in Wendell, Minn., on March 20, 1934. She was baptized and confirmed in Ness Lutheran Church, Elbow Lake, Minn. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Colby, Wis.

In 1952, she graduated from Elbow Lake High School. In 1956, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree with high distinction from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.

After teaching at Signal Hill School, Belleville, Ill., she and Elton H. Moore were married in 1958.

She was an organist in Lutheran churches in Beaver Dam and Unity, Wis.

Vyonne was a member of the Music Teachers National Association. In 1995, she received a 100 student-point plaque.

For 19 years she taught private piano lessons to children and adults, and played piano accompaniments for Colby Solo-Ensemble Festivals. She was a judge at other Solo-Ensemble events for the Wisconsin School Music Association.

For five years, she was organist and choir accompanist at First Presbyterian Church, Abbotsford, Wis.

She was a 12-year TOPS member of TOPS WI 540, Colby, Wis.

Survivors include her husband, Elton H. Moore; daughters, Kathy Moore, Madison, and Kellyann (Paul) Babey, Thunder Bay, Canada; son, Michael (Jennifer Bailey) Moore, Boston; and grandson, Nicholas Elton Moore, Boston. She also is survived by an uncle, Willard Paulson, Ashby, Minn.

Vyonne was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert (Gib) and Ruth (Paulson) Larson.
