DORCHESTER -- Clifford Wetterau 93, of Dorchester died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at Saint Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Marshfield.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester, Wis.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Maurina Funeral Home in Dorchester, Wis.

Clifford G. Wetterau

Clifford George Wetterau, 93, of Dorchester died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at Saint Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

A memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester, Wis. Inurnment will be in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. The Revs. Paul Gitter and James Schaefer will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Maurina Funeral Home in Dorchester, Wis., and again from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Clifford was born March 15, 1912, in Fenwood to George and Clara (Krzmarcik) Wetterau. He was a graduate of Edgar High School. Clifford and Grace Reynolds were united in marriage June 10, 1939, at St. Louis Catholic Church. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from May 1943 to October 1945. He was a cheese maker and co-owner of Dorchester Cheese Co., retiring in 1973. He served on the Dorchester State Bank Board for 28 years and was a past village president of Dorchester for many years. Clifford was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, a charter member of Dorchester American Legion, a charter member of Dorchester Loins Club and a member of Senior Citizens Bowling League.

Clifford is survived by his wife, Grace Wetterau of Dorchester; a son, Mark Wetterau of Midland, Texas; a granddaughter, Lindsey Wetterau of Dallas, Texas; and one sister, Geraldine Drengler of Wausau, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Adeline Schroeder and Marcella Kuehlman.

My mother s maiden name was Wetterau. I have been doing extensive research on the family in Germany and the US. Would be happy if you would contact me.
