Halverson, Diane (29 Mar 1940 - 21 Nov 2007)

Diane Halverson, 67, Abbotsford, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at the Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Abbotsford, Wis.

Diane was born March 29, 1940, in Colby to Arthur and Fern (Kramer) Halverson.

She was a graduate of Colby, Wis. High School. Diane and Woodrow Schmutzler Jr. were united in marriage and later divorced.

Diane was postmaster of Riplinger until 1967 and later was mail carrier for the City of Marshfield. She was also employed with Peoples Exchange Bank of Thorp as a loan secretary and the Clark County OADA. Diane was a 4-H leader and Rip Riders Snowmobile Club member.

She was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Riplinger and currently as member of Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford, Wis. Diane had resided in Abbotsford for the past 20 years.

Survivors include her children, Lore (Vern) Ponshock, Nekoosa, Todd (Diane) Schmutzler, Riplinger, Wendy Jo Rossman, Marshfield; six grandchildren; one grad-granddaughter; and brothers and sisters, Arthur (Nancy) Halverson, Riplinger, Faye (Frank) Benvenuto, Grafton, Jean (Wayne) Gaul, Park Falls, Rodney Halverson, Scott and Deforest Halverson, all of Delaware, Charlene Halverson, Delaware, and Joyce (Ray) Kramer, Colorado.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held Nov. 26 at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford, with Reverend. Dr. Paul C. Hunsicker presiding. Burial was in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Maurina - Community Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
