Lazotte, Lydia (7 May 1866 - 8 July 1943)

Lydia Shoop Lazotte, 77, route I, Neillsville, passed away at her home Thursday, July 8, at 10:30 p.m. Funeral services for the deceased, who had been ill of cancer for some time, were held Monday, July 12, 1943, 10 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Fr. J. A. Biegler officiating. Interment was made in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. A rosary service was also held Sunday evening at the Schiller-Terhune funeral home.

Lydia Shoop was born May 7, 1866, to Andrew and Susan in Jefferson County and moved to Clark County over 55 years ago.

She was married to Anthony LaZotte over 55 years ago in Neillsville and to them were born six children. Two of them, a daughter, Mrs. Joe Hartung, and a son Thomas, preceded her in death.

Surviving are four children: Grace and Tony of Neenah, Glenn of Merrillan and Edward at home, one brother, Sam, of Warrenton, Oregon, and seven sisters. Mrs. William Stevens, Neillsville, Mrs. Efnar Nelson, Ladysmith and Mrs. Cola, Mrs. Stelle, Mrs. Camel and Mrs. Shuppa, all of whom live in the west. Two sisters preceded her in death.
