Rzetelny, Mary (10 DEC 1865 - 26 APR 1940)

Mrs. Matt Rzetelny died on April 26, 1940 of influenza which developed into pneumonia, at the Owen hospital. She had reached the age of 74 years, 4 months and 16 days.

Mary Anczyk was born on Dec. 10, 1865 in Poland. She was married in that country on Nov. 15, 1883 to Matt Rzetelny who still survives her. She came to America 51 years ago, residing for five years in Chicago and five years in West Hammond, Ind., before coming to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and settling on a farm in 1899. Besides her aged husband, she is survived by two sons, Martin of Thorp and Harry of Chicago; five daughters, Frances (Mrs. Stanley Malecki) Thorp, Helen (Mrs. Steve Pawlak), Withee, Mary (Mrs. Steve Spychalla), Milwaukee, Josephine (Mrs. Joe Konieczny), Thorp, and Anna (Mrs. Frank Cieslik), Withee, 18 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Three sons preceded her in death, Lawrence, Steve and Frank.

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church on Monday morning at ten o’clock, Rev. Fathers Kulig and Adamiak officiating and interment taking place in the parish cemetery. Five sons-in-law and a nephew acted as pallbearers, Frank Cieslik Sr., Stanley Malecki, Steve Pawlak, Steve Spychalla, Frank Cieslik Jr. and Joe Konieczny.
