Curtiss - Nov. 16, 1944

A special Thank offering service will be held at the Evangelical and Reformed church on Sunday evening, Nov. 19, at 8 o’clock P.M. The Rev. Ben Stucki, Supt. Of the Indian School at Neillsville, will be the guest speaker.

Miss Myrtle Hoff spent the week-end with friends at Nelsonville and attended a Luther League convention at Amherst.

Arlyn Peterson, who recently received a medical discharge from the army service, left on Saturday for Chicago where he will be employed.

Mr. and Mrs. Jake Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. George Koerner were Marshfield visitors on Tuesday.

Col. Norman A. Matthias of Washington, D.C., spent the weekend with his parents, enroute to his home after attending an army engineers’ procurement conference in Chicago.

John Lokken visited his mother, Mrs. Tena Lokken, and sister, Mrs. France Tuttle, and family at Marshfield on Sunday.

Pvt. Martha Mowery, who recently enlisted in the WACS and is receiving her training in Des Moines, Ia., spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Mowery and brother, Pvt. James Mowery, who was home on furlough before leaving for St. Meade, Maryland.
