Hattie H. Forman, 106, of Neillsville died at 6:25 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at the Memorial Nursing Home in Neillsville, Wis.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Christie with the Rev. Daniel Cole officiating. Burial will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Neillsville from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church in Christie from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

Hattie Forman was born April 9, 1899, in Watertown to Emil and Amelia (Greeler) Winkelman. The family moved to the farm in Neillsville when Hattie was 2 1/2 years old. She attended Happy Hollow School in the town of York. Hattie then attended St. John's Lutheran School in Neillsville, was confirmed in 1913 and graduated in 1918.

Hattie married Gordon Lavene in 1917. He preceded her in death.

She married Wheeler Forman in 1940. He died in 1944.

Hattie lived in Neillsville until 1944, and then moved back to the farm. She entered Neillsville Memorial Home in May 1999 at the age of 100. She is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Christie and an honorary life member of its Ladies Aid.

Hattie is survived by one daughter-in-law, Alice Lavene of Neillsville; three grandchildren, Bonnie (Roger) Bender of Loyal, Gary (Kim) Lavene of Neillsville and Rick Lavene of Neillsville; six great-grandchildren, Lee Bender of Loyal, Lori (Kevin) Zais of Spencer, Lynnette (Duane) Johnson of Colby, Lychelle (Matt) Tellock of Loyal, Brody Lavene of Neillsville and Breanna Lavene of Neillsville; five great-great-grandchildren, Heather and Brady Zais, both of Spencer, Taylor and Devin Johnson, both of Colby, and Natasha Tellock of Loyal; and two step-great-great-grandchildren, Jason Johnson of Minneapolis and Brittany Johnson of Colby, Wis.

Hattie was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and her son, Alvin Lavene, on Jan. 22, 2000.

Buchanan Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting the family with arrangements.
