Christine Rudy

Christine Marie Rudy went to be with our Lord, carrying her unborn son, Christopher, on January 11, 2006.

She was born on June 19, 1984, in Hibbing, Minn., the daughter of Edward and Carol (Zaitz) Lee. In 1986, the family moved to Thorp, Wis., where she grew up and attended area schools. She was a certified nursing assistant, and enjoyed working with the elderly. She also worked at Grassland Dairy. She loved and enjoyed children and being in the outdoors, especially fishing. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Thorp.

She is survived by her parents, Edward and Carol (Zaitz) of Thorp; three sisters, Melissa (Jason) Cox of rural Boyd, Sara Welch of San Diego, Calif., and Julie Lee of Ladysmith; nieces and nephews, Courtney, Jonathan and Hannah Cox; her maternal grandmother, Gloria Zaitz of Hibbing, Minn.; aunts and uncles, Ronald Zaitz of Babbitt, Minn., Thomas (Shirley) Zaitz, Michael Zaitz and Steve Zaitz, all of Hibbing, Minn., Elaine Suda of Holcombe, Bernard (Shirley) Lee, John (Pat) Lee and Glenn (Sonja) Lee, all of Duluth, Minn.; her great-uncle, John (Mary) Evancevich of Babbitt, Minn.; and great-great-great-aunt, Marie Krampotich of Hibbing, Minn.; many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Albert and Clara Lee; and maternal grandfather, Edward Zaitz.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2006, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Thorp, with Pastor Daniel Welch officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2006, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

Plombon Funeral Services in Stanley is handling arrangements.
