Stirland, Oretel (Marriage - 23 Feb. 1945)

Aviation Cadet George K. Roohr and Miss Oretel Stirland of Providence, Utah, were married at the Latter Day Saints church, 44th St. and Roosevelt Drive, Milwaukee, Wis., on Feb. 23rd at 7:30 P.M. by Bishop Grover Clyde. George is the son of Mrs. Alma Roohr and has always lived at Colby until he joined the Cadets on June 24th, 1943. Miss Stirland is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Stirland of Providence, Utah, and has always lived there. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Archie Roohr of Appleton.

The bride’s dress was of melon colored crepe and she wore a corsage of orange rose buds and blue forget-me-nots. Mrs. Archie Roohr wore a victory blue crepe dress and her corsage consisted of pink roses.

Cadet Roohr is stationed at Boca Raton, Florida, and is spending a 20-day furlough in Wisconsin and Miss Stirland met him at Milwaukee for their marriage.

Relatives who witnessed the ceremony were Mrs. Alma Roohr, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Roohr and daughter, Sandra, Cpl. And Mrs. Clifford Daines, all of Appleton and Mrs. Walter Hasler, and Mrs. Russell Roohr of Milwaukee.
