Herrmann, Verna E. (Marriage - 13 Oct. 1945)

Miss Verna E. Herrmann, daughter of Mrs. Elsie Herrmann of Colby, and Eugene H. Blair, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Blair of Unity, were united in marriage Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the First Evangelical and Reformed church, Rev. Lee Holmes reading the marriage ceremony before the altar decorated with chrysanthemums, dahlias and asters. Miss Evelyn L. Herrmann, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Mary Ann Ditzenberger, cousin of the groom, was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Alfred Kuschman of Milwaukee and Richard Herrmann, brother of the bride. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Richard Herrmann.

The bride was attired in a gown of white faille with net overskirt, headdress of orange blossoms and long train and wore pearls, a gift of the groom. Her bouquet consisted of white carnations, swansonia and talisman roses. The maid of honor wore a dress of white net with ruffle trim and pearls, a gift of the bride. Her colonial bouquet consisted of pink roses and gladiola surrounded by pink tulle.

A reception was given at the home of the bride’s mother, the home being nicely decorated with blue and white streamers and chrysanthemums for the occasion.

The couple will be at home after November 1, at Spencer, Wis., where the groom is employed on a farm.
