THORP -- Arthur John "Jack" Tetzner Jr., 82, of Thorp, died Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2006, at the Thorp Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. March 23, 2006, and from 9 a.m. until service time March 24 at the funeral home.

He was born Dec. 21, 1923, in St. Paul, Minn., to Arthur J. and Rose (Garrity) Tetzner. He served in the U.S. Army from Dec. 9, 1942, until Sept. 7, 1944. He married Joan Strom on Aug. 31, 1946, in St. Paul. He taught physical education, driver's education, coached football and was the head basketball coach in Thorp, retiring in 1988. His wife predeceased him on Oct. 6, 2004.

He is survived by his children, Julia M. Persico, River Falls, Jeanne (Pat) Resch, Watkins, Colo., Ronald G. (Nicole) Tetzner, Denver, Colo., Catherine A. (Phillip) Drazkowski, Ellsworth, Lawrence Tetzner, Chicago, John (Tracy) Tetzner, Tulsa, Okla., and Robert (Jan) Tetzner, Madison; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
