Curtiss, Wis. - May 17, 1945

An error was made in the write-up about the Child’s Health Clinic for beginners which is to be held at the Curtiss school on May 22, at 8:30 A.M. in which it said there would be charges for this examination. The examination will be free of charge.

Mrs. Jake Johnson and daughter, Sharon, who have spent the past winter in Chicago, returned home on Wednesday.

A. J. Hennlich, who is employed at Mischicott, Wis., was here last week Wednesday to attend the funeral of Maxwell Jenks at Abbotsford, Wis. Mrs. Hennlich, who spent a few days there, returned home with them.

Ensign and Mrs. Geo. Pease and sons of Wis. Rapids visited at the home of Mrs.Pease’s father the fore part of the week. Ensign Pease is home on a leave from the Pacific.

Robert Green of LaCrosse spent the week-end with his mother, Mrs. Minnie Green.

Friends of Charles Wm. Bush, a former Hoard resident, have received announcements of his marriage to Mrs. Ethel Meyers Moore at Clark, South Dakota, where Mr. Bush is teaching agriculture in the high school.

Mrs. Anton Peterson returned to her home at Bend, Oregon, on Saturday after spending a few days with her sister in law and brother, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Peterson, after being here for the funeral of her mother, Mrs. Arneson.

Announcements were received this week by friends here of the marriage of Miss Dorothy Lloyd Owen to Harold Tonn of Curtiss at St. Paul on April 21. Miss Lloyd has been the home economic teacher in the Owen high school for several years. Harold is assistant cashier at the Curtiss and Owen State Bank.
