McBain, Ruby A. (2 Aug. 1910 - 19 Dec. 2007)

Ruby A. (Bobb) Mc Bain, 97, of La Crosse died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Hillview Health Care Center, La Crosse.

She was born Aug. 2, 1910, to Arthur Jr. and Nettie Bobb in Thorp, Wis. She graduated from Thorp High School in 1928. She then attended the Grandview School of Nursing in La Crosse and graduated in 1931. She was a nurse at Grandview Hospital for 25 years.

Ruby was united in marriage to Arthur N. Mc Bain in 1937, and he preceded her in death in 1986.

She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, The Social Order of the Beauceant, LaCrosse Chapter No. 22/23 Order of the Eastern Star, The Golden Rule Shrine Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, a member of the United Commerical Travelers of America, and a member of the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.

She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook and made the very best apple pies!

Ruby is survived by her three children, Barbara (Rodney) Bong, Jeanette (Richard) Latterell and Arthur (Patricia) Mc Bain 111; four-grandchildren, Christine (William) Kleckner, Scott (Dani) Fossum, Renee Meinholz and Linda (Brett) Peterson; and three great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Meinholz, Katherine Peterson and Natalie Peterson.

In addition to her husband, Arthur, Ruby was preceded in death by a brother, three sisters and her parents.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 1425 Jackson St., La Crosse. The Rev Taylor Haley will officiate, and burial will be in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Family and Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home. In liew of flowers, memorials may be give to Hillview Health Care Center.

The family extends thanks to Hillview Health Care staff members for dedicated love and care given to Ruby.
