Fredrickson, John C. (5 JUL 1891 - 21 JAN 1941)

John C. Fredrickson, 49, who had been ill since Sunday due to a stomach ailment, died at 5:30 o’clock on Tuesday morning at Medford Hospital.

Mr. Fredrickson was born in Ironwood, Mich., July 5, 1891, and was married to Minnie Linden at Medford April 8, 1914. He was a resident of Medford since Dec. 23, 1912, serving as telegraph operator at the Soo Line until 1924.

After operating a grocery business for 10 years, he returned to his work with the Soo Line, and at the time of his death he was the operator and assistant depot agent here at Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), accepting the position here on the 26th of December, when agent Adolph Lavine and family left on a trip to Arizona for a visit at the home of his son, Gerald.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Fredrickson; his mother, Mrs. Clara Fredrickson of Ironwood, Mich.; a son, Raymond of Medford; three brothers, Axel and Walter of Ironwood and George of Westboro; and three sisters, Mrs. Harlis (Sigrid) Nichols of Oshkosh, Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Nicholson of St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. William (Myrtle) Postel, also of St. Louis.

A cons, Cecil, died in infancy.

Funeral services for Mr. Fredrickson, a member of the Blue Lodge and Chapter of the Masonic Order, were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Pflughoeft and Hartwig Funeral Home in Medford, the Rev. George McKeith officiated.

Burial took place in the Medford Cemetery.

R.R. Richardson has been named by the Soo Line Railway Co. to fill the position held by Mr. Fredrickson within the near future. Mr. Richardson is now employed at Burlington.
