Firnstahl, Virginia B. (Marriage - 16 Nov. 1946)

Miss Virginia B. Firnstahl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. M. Firnstahl, and Angus D. Lamont, son of Mr. and Mrs. Angus Lamont, Sr., were united in marriage at a nuptial high mass at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby Saturday morning, Nov. 16th, 1946, at 9:00 o’clock, Rev. N. B. Beschta reading the double ring ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father. The church aisle was laid with a white carpet by the ushers, Robert Firnstahl and Emmanuel Firnstahl. Solos were sung by M/Sgt. Norman Firnstahl, Mrs. Dorothy Zavala, and I. M. Firnstahl and the choir sang songs.

The bride was attired in a white gown with veil and train and her bouquet consisted of mums and carnations. Mrs. Norman Firnstahl, the matron of honor, wore a pink gown, with short veil and her bouquet consisted of white and blue carnations. Miss Kay Firnstahl, bridesmaid, wore a blue gown with short veil and her bouquet consisted of pink carnations.

The groom was attended by Jack Frane and Jerry Firnstahl.

Breakfast was served at St. Mary’s hall for friends and relatives, covers being laid for 85 guests. The tables were decorated with candles and flowers. A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents in the afternoon and evening.

The couple will be at home at the Firnstahl apartment in Colby, Wis. The groom operates the Lamont service station in Colby, Wis.

Out of town people here for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Patterson and daughter, Ellen Grace, of Minocqua, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Firnstahl and children, Robert and Margaret, of Minneapolis, Miss Kay Firnstahl of Anoka, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ballinger of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Lamont and children, Betty and Jim, of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Cattanach and children, Eileen, of Owen, M/Sgt. and Mrs. Norman Firnstahl, and daughter, Connie, of Omaha, Neb., Jerry Firnstahl of Collegeville, Minn., Miss Lona Firnstahl of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Duellman of Harsaw, Wis., Miss Mary Umhoefer of Wausau.
