Dennis R. Bauer

SPENCER -- Dennis Robert Bauer, 58, of Spencer, formerly of Greenwood and Loyal, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at his home.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Greenwood, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Friday at the Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal and from noon until service time Saturday at the church.

Dennis was born July 30, 1949, in Marshfield to Robert and Elaine (White) Bauer. He served in the Army National Guard from 1969 until 1975. Dennis married Laurette Wolf on Oct. 18, 1969, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. They farmed for 25 years in the Greenwood area. In 2005, they moved to Spencer, Wis.

Survivors include his wife, Laurette Bauer of Spencer; five children, Michael (Lesley) Bauer, Arpin, Andy (Cindy) Bauer, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Gary (Andrea) Bauer, Spencer, Todd Bauer, River Falls, Becky (Jason) Weyer, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and six grandchildren.

Dennis is further survived by his father, Bob Bauer, Loyal; three brothers, Dave (Sue) Bauer, Marshfield, Wayne (Kelly) Bauer, Loyal, and Doug (Kelly) Bauer, Stratford; and five sisters, Joann Snow, Waco, Texas, Roberta Bauer, Springfield, Tenn., Loni (Tom) Duell, Loyal, Shari (Ken) Volovsek, Chillis, Idaho, and Lori (Harry) Bentzler, Silt, Colo.
