Bird, Jewell Beverly (Marriage - 27 Dec. 1946)
Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Tessmer announce the marriage of their grand daughter, Jewell Beverly Bird, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Anderson of Montbello, Calif., to Roland W. Weiss, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Weiss of the same city, on December 27th in the sanctuary of the Grace Presbyterian church. Before the ceremony, Jean Duncan sang several numbers.
The bride wore a white satin gown, sweetheart neckline, full bodice and long veil with face veil with a tiara of seed pearls. She wore pearls of her mother and carried a white prayer book mounted with an iridescent orchid and streamers.
De Loris Weiss, sister of the groom, was maid of honor. She wore pink net with a satin bodice and a coronet of tea roses in her hair. She carried a colonial bouquet. The groom was attended by Lt. Robert Cool, USN, stationed at Redondo Beach.
About fifty guests attended the reception following the ceremony.
The groom is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, law school. He served four years as a navy pilot and is now employed by the Archer Casulty Co. as a claims adjustor.
The bride is a graduate of State Teacher’s College, Stevens Point, Wis. She taught two years in Wisconsin before moving to California. She is now personal secretary to the president of G.I. Farm Market Relations of Los Angeles.
