Mueller, Elsie (Marriage - 14 June 1947)

Miss Elsie Mueller, daughter of Mrs. Anna Mueller of Abbotsford, and Ralph Woik, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Woik of Owen, were married at a 1:30 o’clock nuptial service on Saturday, June 14th, at the Christ Lutheran church at Abbotsford with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Arnold F. Mueller of Abbotsford, Wisconsin. The Misses Vangel Bobbe and Joyce Merwin sang "Oh Perfect Love," accompanied by Miss Inez Gust.

The bride’s gown was fashioned with a white slipper satin bodice with a high round neckline which was trimmed with a flower appliqué of beaded pearls and long full sleeves coming to points at the wrist. Her full marquisette skirt ended in a long train. A two-tier of lace bordered the fingertip veil which was caught by a crown of orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful fan design bouquet of orchids and white carnations. Her pearl necklace was a gift of the groom.

Miss Helen Zebro of Mosinee served as maid of honor and the groom’s brother, Robert Woik of Owen, was best man. Other attendants were Delores Mueller of Withee, niece of the bride, and Lila Mueller of Abbotsford, bridesmaids, and Robert Ebert of Colby and Marlyn Sommers, groomsmen.

The maid of honor was attired in a white ninon gown with puffed sleeves and a white neckline. The bridesmaids wore identical frocks of pink and orchid. They also wore pearls, gifts of the bride. They carried bouquets of pink roses and white carnations. The bride’s mother wore a dress of navy blue with white accessories. The groom’s mother wore a blue dress with white accessories also. Their corsage bouquets were of red carnations and lilies of the valley.

Approximately 60 relatives and friends were entertained at a 5:30 o’clock supper at the home of the bride’s sister and brother in law, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Weideman of Abbotsford, Wisconsin. White, pink and blue streamers decorated the Weideman home. In the evening, a wedding dance was given at Walter’s pavilion at Colby, Wisconsin.

After a wedding trip to Southern Wisconsin and Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Woik will make their home on a farm west of Curtiss.

The bride had been employed at the Home Bakery, Abbotsford, Wisconsin. The groom is a graduate of the Owen High School, class of 1941.

Guests from Chicago, Milwaukee, Park Falls, Mosinee, Stratford, Withee, Owen, Colby, Curtiss and Abbotsford were present.
