Hess, Elaine (Marriage - 31 July 1947)

Miss Elaine Hess, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hess of Colby, and Charles C. Stuart, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Stuart of Washington, Ark., will be united in marriage at 4:00 P.M., this Thursday afternoon, July 31, at the home of the bride in Colby, Wis., Rev. Frederick J. Smith reading the marriage ceremony. The couple’s attendants are Marion Hess, the bride’s sister, and Charles Allmann of Colby, Wisconsin.

The bride chose a copen blue suit with white accessories and corsage of white gardenias as her wedding attire. The maid of honor chose a covert-cloth suit with brown accessories and a corsage of yellow roses. The bride’s mother is dressed in a brown sheer dress and her corsage consists of yellow daisies. The bride’s sisters, Bonnie Jean and Barbara Ann, each have corsages of white carnations.

A reception will be given immediately following the ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents which is decorated with large bouquets of summer flowers.

The couple will leave on a wedding trip to Arkansas by way of Hot Springs and will be at home after August 4th, temporarily at the home of the bridegroom’s parents at Washington, Ark. The groom is a student at Draughton Business School at Little Rock, Ark.

Out of town guests are Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stuart and family of Woodstock, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Turner of Alden, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Clemens and sons of Medford, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bachler of Abbotsford, Wis.
