I have corresponded with Karen several times regarding my husbands great-great-grandfather Curtis Markham. I last heard from her on Sept. 15, 2006. At that time I mentioned that I have papers from Curtis Civil War pension file stating he died Sept. 11, 1908 at a hospital in Topeka Kansas. His next of kin is listed as his daughter Harriet Langley in Joplin, MO.

I also have a paper from the Western Branch, National Home for DVS Military Home in Topeka, dated July 24, 1908, which requests that his name be transferred from the pension rolls of the Milwaukee agency to the rolls of the Topeka agency.

I am very interested in any info anyone may have as to his place of death being other than Topeka, KS as stated in his Civil War Pension file.

Also, back in 2002 I printed the Greenwood Cemetery index and it lists only Sarah Markham. There is no mention of Curtis Markham.

I have never received a clarification on this discrepency. Hoping to hear from Karen or someone soon.
