Stuart, Hazel L. (21 APR 1895 - 1 MAR 1941)

Funeral services were conducted at two o’clock Tuesday afternoon, March 4, 1941, from the Griebenow Funeral Parlors for Mrs. John Stuart, 45 years, 10 months and 9 days of age, who passed away at her home at Stevens Point, Saturday, after a long lingering illness.

The Rev. J.H. Rostad of the Alliance Chapel officiated at the service and interment was made in the Riverside Cemetery.

Hazel Leola Stuart, nee Hazel Grimes, was born on April 21, 1895 at Emerald. When still a small child she moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Grimes, to Clear Lake, where she spent her early childhood days and received her early education. When a young lady she moved to Stevens Point where she met and married John Stuart, where they made their home until the time of her calling to brighter and more happy life.

Her passing from these earthly things is mourned by her husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Grimes of Owen, and two brothers, Burleigh of Trenton Mo., and Shurleigh of Owen, besides many relatives and friends of Stevens Point and Owen.

Among those from away that attended the services were her husband, John Stuart of Stevens Point; her brother, Burleigh and wife of Trenton, Mo.; Fred Stuart, Mrs. Eva Allen, Mrs. Lena Thorski and Mrs. Claire Elliott of Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. Milton Lang and daughter Peggy of Wabeno; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Wilson and son of Emerald; Mrs. Fred Olson and daughter of Colby; Ernest Schroeder of Wis. Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Granger, Eddie Granger and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Elliott of Chippewa Falls.

Pallbearers at the service were Julius Johnson, Oscar Parkinson
