Brehm, Shirley Mae (Marriage - 1 May 1948)

St. Mary’s Catholic church of Colby was the scene Saturday, May 1st, of the wedding of Miss Shirley Mae Brehm, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Brehm of Colby, and Amos William Foster, son of Mrs. Theresa Foster, 904 South Peach Street, of Marshfield. Rev. N. B. Beschta celebrated the 9:00 o’clock nuptial high mass.

The bride chose for her wedding costume a sea-foam green suit with white accessories. She carried a white prayer book. Her corsage consisted of white gardenias and yellow roses.

Attendants for the couple were Miss Jane Foster, sister of the groom, and Roger Orth of Colby, Wisconsin. A corsage of pink roses and sweet peas accepted the maid of honor’s gray suit with green accessories.

Breakfast was served to the immediate bridal party at the home of the bride’s parents. Upon their return from their wedding trip, which they will spend in Michigan, a reception for friends and relatives will be given on May 18th at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride is a graduate of Colby High School and was employed at Marshfield the past year. The groom also attended Colby High School and spent two years in service in the U.S. Navy. For the past year, he has been working in Marshfield.

They will be at home to friends at 204 North Maple Street in Marshfield.
