Weichelt, Margaret Elaine (Marriage - 9 Oct. 1948)

Miss Margaret Elaine Weichelt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Weichelt of Stratford, and James Robert Oehmichen of Colby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Oehmichen, were united in marriage at the Emmanuel Lutheran church at Hewitt, Wisconsin, Saturday, October 9th, at 2:00 o’clock; Rev. John Brandt reading the marriage ceremony.

The bride was attired in a white satin gown, trimmed with lace and fashioned with a net yoke, edged with satin and lace gathers. Her full peek-a-boo skirt was caught with tiny orange blossoms and extended into a long train. She carried a shower bouquet of white mums, centered with orange blossoms.

Miss Martha Weichelt was her sister’s maid of honor and wore a blue taffeta gown styled with a ruffled neckline and sleeves. Her hoop peek-a-boo skirt was caught to points with tiny bows. She wore a matching headdress and veil and also matching mitts. Her bouquet consisted of pink carnations centered with mums.

Miss Doris Oehmichen, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. Her gown was identical to that of the maid of honor’s except in pink. Her flowers were also the same.

Aryla Ebeling, cousin of the groom, was best man and Elmer Oehmichen, brother of the groom, was groomsman.

Mary Kohlsteadt of Evenston, Ill., niece of the bride, as flower girl, wore a dress identical to that of the maid of honor and bridesmaid only in yellow. She also carried a mixed bouquet.

A dinner-supper was served at the bride’s home, covers being laid for 150 guests. A wedding dance was held at the Willow Grace pavilion at Rozellville.

Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Oehmichen, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Oehmichen and daughter, Shirley Ann, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Pflanzer, Mrs. Rose Dallman and Mrs. Anna Hake, all of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ebeling and son, Donald, of Curtiss, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Kriplean of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. August Kohlsteadt, Mary and Joyce, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dowely of Evanston, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Boehning of Auburndale, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hutchinson of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Arnold and Joyce of Ashland and Mr. and Mrs. George Pflanzer of Catawab.
