Stecker, Barbara (31 May 1866 - 26 Jan. 1948)

Mrs. Barbara Stecker passed away Monday, January 26th, at 1:15 p.m. at the home of her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meyer, old age complications being the cause of her death. The body will be at the Lulloff Funeral Home until this Thursday afternoon, Jan. 29th, when funeral services will be held at the First Evangelical and Reformed church, Rev. F. P. Puhlmann officiating, and internment will be made in the Green Grove cemetery.

Mrs. Stecker was born in Sheboygan on May 31, 1866, thus reaching the age of 81 years, seven months and 26 days. She moved onto a farm in the town of Green Grove with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Justis Glenzer, when seven years of age. She was married to Fred Stecker in Green Grove on Nov. 2, 1886. She moved from the farm to the city of Colby in 1910.

Surviving are two sons, Fred Stecker of Colby and Wm. Stecker of New Richmond; one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Edna) Meyer of Colby; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Klemm of Ladysmith, Wis.

The deceased was a good Christian, honest in all her dealings, and her congenial disposition won her many friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Stecker, whose death was chronicled last week, were held last Thursday afternoon at the First Evangelical and Reformed church, Rev. F. P. Puhlmann officiating, and internment was made in the Green Grove cemetery. Grand sons were pall bearers and were Sylvester, Leo and Floyd Stecker, Russell Meyer, Harlowe Hibbard and Alfred Zahradka. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Harlowe Hibbard, Mrs. Russell Meyer, Mrs. Alfred Zahradka and Miss Marlene Hibbard.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Glenzer, Mrs. Ray Miller and daughter and Mrs. Rudy Moeller of Stevens Point, William Klemm and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Zahradka and son of Ladysmith, Mrs. Alma Pipkorn of Westboro, Mr. and Mrs. William Stecker of New Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. William Koffarnus, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Lietzou, Mr. and Mrs. Clive Lietzou, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Boss of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Sommer and Fred Glenzer of Curtiss, Hubert Stecker, Mrs. Joseph Schreindl of Marshfield and Sylvester Stecker of Unity.
