Reeves, Katherine (2 June 1875 - 7 June 1948)

Mrs. Henry A. Reeves, nee Katherine Watenpohl, died at LaCrosse Monday night at 11:55 p.m., complications of several years duration, being the cause of her death. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, Wisconsin on Friday morning at 9:30 o’clock, Rev. N. B. Beschta officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

The deceased was born in Fairchild, Wis., on June 2, 1875, thus reaching the age of 73 years and five days. She came to Colby shortly before her marriage to Henry A. Reeves on July 25, 1893. They left Colby for LaCrosse several years ago.

Surviving are four children, Henry of Colby, John of Milwaukee, Mrs. William (Neva) Harry of Colby and Harold of Abbotsford; one sister, Mrs. Dena Meach of Owen; one half-sister, Elsie Brossard of Western Springs, Ill., and a half-brother, William Watenpohl of Marinette, Wis. There are 12 grand children and six great grand children. Two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

Mrs. Reeves will be remembered by Colby people as a good Christian of a kindly and friendly disposition and well-liked by all who knew her.

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry A. Reeves were held at St. Mary’s Catholic church Friday morning, Rev. N. B. Beschta officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Pall bearers were Ernst Mandel, C. J. Kraus, C. J. Bane, Jake Hauser, Hugo Frome and Herb Firnstahl. The flowers were in charge of Hattie Johnson, Bertha Young, Gusta Yelke and Bertha Loos.

Out of town people here for the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Reeves and son, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Reeves, Dorothy Reeves, Anthony Corso, Richard Reeves and Mr. and Mrs. John Reeves, all of Milwaukee, Ronald Reeves of Madison, Mrs. Rose Tennis of Unity, Mrs. Leonard Johnson and Mrs. Dena Meach of Owen, Harry Rabl, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Travis, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Rabl, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Rabl, Mr. and Mrs. Alve Arries, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Rabl, Leo Rabl, Miss Alice Goodacre, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Rabl, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rabl, all of Augusta, George Wilding of Hawthorne, Calif., George West and Mrs. Johnson of Granton, Mr. and Mrs. S. Board of Spencer, Mrs. Herman Barmer, Mrs. Frank Stieber and Mrs. Mary Yaunker of Dorchester and Mr. and Mrs. John Reeves of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
