Hoernke, Lucille (Marriage - 18 June 1952)

Miss Lucille Hoernke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hoernke, became the bride of William Heucke, son of Mrs. Elsie Heucke, all of the town of Frankfort, Wednesday, June 18, at 1:30 P.M. in St. John’s American Lutheran in the town of Wien, Rev. J. H. Kolberg reading the marriage ceremony. Mrs. Leonard Barnowski, a sister of the bride, was matron of honor and Miss Anita Mielke of Colby and Mrs. George Hoernke of Edgar, a sister of the groom, were bridesmaids. The groom was attended by Leonard Barnowski of Stratford, the bride’s brother-in-law, as best man and Wendell Bauman of Edgar and Leonard Riese of Unity, the groom’s cousin, as groomsmen. Norman Busche of Stratford and James Lueschow of Edgar were ushers.

Nylon over satin and net fashioned the bridal gown. The snug-fitting bodice featured a square yoke trimmed with lace and seed pearls and long pointed sleeves. Wide lace edging accented the hipline and the full skirt fell into a long train. A scalloped crown embedded with seed pearls and rhinestones held her veil and she carried a bouquet of pink and white roses and stephanotis with an orchid center. Mrs. Barnowski had an orchid floor-length dress designed with a square neckline and shirred skirt with lace edging. The two aides wore green and orchid gowns, respectively, styled like the matron of honor’s. Mixed flowers formed their bouquets and each attendant wore a matching headdress. Mrs. Hoernke wore a lime green dress while the groom’s mother was in dusty rose. Each had a corsage of mixed flowers.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents where supper was also served.

They will live on the groom’s farm in the town of Eau Pleine when they return from a wedding [trip] to Northern Wisconsin.

Guests at the wedding were from Minnesota, Marquette, Mich., Rhinelander, Stratford, Edgar, Colby, Loyal and Unity, Wis.
