Schmidt, Mary L. #2 (13 JUN 1913 - 20 DEC 2007)

Mary L. Schmidt, 94, Loyal, died on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at the Golden Living Center Three Oaks, Marshfield. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser officiated. Burial followed in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery.

Mary L. GeBauer was born on June 13, 1913, in Milwaukee, to Martin and Julia (nee Hartman) GeBauer. She moved with her parents to a farm in the town of York, near Granton, where she attended Romadka Grade School and Granton High School. She married Andrew O. Schmidt on Feb. 12, 1934. They farmed in the town of Loyal until their retirement in 1962. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and its PCCW. She had many interests, but especially loved embroidering and making quilts and wedding flowers.

She will be sadly missed by her six children, Donald (Judy) Schmidt, Marshfield, Dr. Jerome (Karen) Schmidt, Hartord, Mo., Marie (Larry) Waldhauser, Friday, Minn., Dorothy Ertl, Marshfield, Andrew Jr. (Faye) Schmidt, Tomahawk, and Evelyn (John) Schultz, Loyal; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; one sister, Betty Lynn, New Jersey; and three nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Andrew, on Sept. 14, 1979; one brother, John GeBauer; and one great-granddaughter, Lacey Mae Schultz.
