Burzynski, Virginia M. (30 May 1928 - 21 Jan. 2008)

Virginia M. Burzynski

THORP -- Virginia Mary Burzynski, 79, of Thorp died Jan. 21, 2008.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Old St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Rosary service, Friday at the Thorp Funeral Home.

She was born May 30, 1928, in Chicago to Louis V. and Victoria F. (Opon) Ciolkosz. She was united in marriage to Peter Burzunski on Aug. 18, 1951, at St. Mary's of Czestochowa Catholic Church in Junction. Peter predeceased her June 6, 1989. They farmed at the Burzynski family farm until 1983. She was a waitress and cook at the Dairy Bar, then worked at Ken's Bakery, cooked at Char Lounge and lastly cooked at the Old Saloon in Curtiss.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Burzynski, Skokie, Ill., Judy (Dean) Anderson, Wittenberg, Jody (Stas') Lawcewicz, Thorp, Bob (Dee) Burzynski and Peggy (Gary) Hoff, all of Lublin; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; her sister, Dolores (Bill) Patterson, Venice, Fla.; and two brothers, Mitch (Pat) Ciolkosz, Bloomer, and Leonard (Joanne) Ciolkosz, Minocqua.
