Unity - Mar. 4, 1954

The village caucus will be held at the Memorial Hall March 10 at 8:00 P.M.

Mr. and Mrs. William Schultz visited several days with relatives in Mitchel and Spencer, S.D.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jordan attended the funeral of the latter’s father, Reinhart Smudde, age 92, at Kaukauna last week Wednesday.

Herman Leffel, who spent the past month with his sons, Norman and Charles, and their families at Maple, is now staying at the Stepehen Bezak home in Abbotsford, Wis.

Winners of the forensic contest at the high school Tuesday evening who will represent the school at Loyal March 12 were Anette Erickson, serious declamation; Charlotte Mohan, four-minute speech; Renata Johnson, extemporaneous reading; Philip Knuf, humerous declamation; and Bonnie Binning and Marge Hartl, non-original oratory. Judges at the local contest were the Rev. Harvey Schall, the Rev. Claude Vander Stoep and Patrick McCormick.

Mrs. Albert Wiedenhoeft visited several days in Schofield with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pauls.

Rev. Claude Vander Stoep was taken to Platteville last week to get his car. On a trip to Rock Island, the car developed trouble and had to be repaired.

Mrs. James Cook, the former Norma Wisnoski, underwent surgery at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital.
