Bobert, Arlene Ann (Marriage - 5 Oct. 1954)

Miss Arlene Ann Bobert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Bobert of Colby, and Urban M. Bargender of Edgar, Route 1, son of Mrs. Marie Bargender of Edgar, were united in marriage Tuesday morning, Oct. 5, in St. John the Baptist Catholic church in Wuetzburg, Wisconsin, Rev. J. J. Burggraf officiating at the 9:00 o’clock mass. Alex Ellenbecker, soloist, sang "Ave Maria." After the service the wedding dinner was served at the home of the groom’s mother.

The bride was attired in a gown of net over satin fashioned with a lace-edged sweetheart-fitted bodice with yoke and sleeves of net and full skirt. Her finger-tip veil was fastened to a crown of orange blossoms and she carried a bouquet of red roses and pompoms.

Miss Elaine Chapman of Milan was maid of honor and Miss Bette Christiansen of Athens, a cousin of the bride, served as bridesmaid. They carried pink and white carnations with their floor-length gowns of net over satin in pink and blue respectively.

Clarence Bargender of Edgar was best man for his brother and Eugene Kremsreiter of Athens was groomsman.

The bride’s mother wore a red and blue suit with black accessories while the mother of the groom wore an orchid colored dress with black accessories. Each had a corsage of white mums and pink roses.

Guests at the wedding were from Edgar, Colby, Abbotsford, Janesville, Stratford, Athens and Wausau.
