Ewert, Ida (12 Apr. 1868 - 22 Apr. 1954)

Mrs. Ida Ewert died at her home in Unity last Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at the age of 86 years. She suffered a stroke 15 months ago and had been in ill health since. Funeral services were held at the Trinity Lutheran church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Claude Vander Stoep officiating, and burial was made in the Unity cemetery.

Mrs. Ewert, nee Franke, was born on April 12, 1868, in Cleveland. She was married on April 4, 1889, at Chilton to Jacob Siegrist, who died on February 16, 1903. After their marriage, the couple moved to Unity where she resided since.

On January 1, 1909, she was married at Unity to Carl Ewert who died on March 8, 1931.

Surviving are three sons, Frank and William Siegrist of Unity and Lester Siegrist of the town of Brighton; a daughter, Mrs. Dora Ewert of Unity; two step sons, Henry Ewert of Dorchester and Arthur Ewert of Colby; three step daughters, Mrs. Emma Finch of Raymond, S.D., Mrs. Louis Klein of Spencer and Mrs. Elmer Carlson of Unity; three brothers, Oscar Franke of Chilton; five sisters, Mrs. Minnie Rathert and Mrs. Fred Reisner of Milwaukee, Mrs. William Wagner of Granton, Mrs. John Wagner and Mrs. Arno Nelleson of Chilton; five grand children and two great grand children.

Two sons, a daughter, two brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.
