Baum, Emilie (3 Sept. 1868 - 15 Dec. 1954)
Mrs. R. E. Baum died at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital Wednesday night, Dec. 15, at the age of 86 years. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the First Evangelical and Reformed church, Rev. V. O. Grosshuesch officiating, and interment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Angus Lamont, Sr., Herman Strathman, Ted Baumgart, Carl Mendt, Jack Young and Abner Scidmore.
Mrs. Baum, nee Emilie Kaiser, was born on September 3, 1868, in Silver Creek, Sheboygan county. She married Reinhardt E. Baum on May 20, 1894, in Batavia. The couple moved onto a farm near Colby in 1900 where they lived until 1920 when they came to the city of Colby, Wis.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Yetive Baum of Colby and Mrs. Alfred (Maida) Hartkoff of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Klumb of Silver Creek and Mrs. Ella Reisse of Milwaukee; a brother, Fred Kaiser, of New Holstein, three grand children and one great grand child.
One daughter, Mrs. Richard Buggs, two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. Baum was an every day Christian with an honest and kindly disposition. The beautifying influences of a pure religion were spread over a spotless life and had its influence on her family, friends and neighbors.
Out of town people here for the funeral were Mrs. Al Hartkoff of Chicago, Mrs. Cora Nelson, Miss Sophie Van da Too, Miss Elayne Schreiber and Miss Evelyn Fustenberg of Marshfield, Richard Buggs, Sr., and Richard Boggs, Jr., of Janesville.
