Swienton, Anna (1 APR 1871 - 1 SEP 1941)

Last Rites will be performed at St. Hedwig’s Church here at ten o’clock Thursday morning (today) for Mrs. Stanley Swienton, who passed away at the hospital at Marshfield, Monday afternoon, Sept. 1st, 1941. She has been ill for several weeks. The body will lie in state at the Bogumill Funeral Home until the hour of the funeral. An obituary will appear in the "Courier" next week.

Mrs. Stanley Swienton, 70, passed away at the hospital at Marshfield at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 1st. She had been a patient there for several weeks and was definitely on the gain. Death was caused by stroke.

Anna Moczadlo was born in Poland on April 1, 1871. She came to this country while still a young girl, and in 1889 was united at Minneapolis to Stanley Swienton who preceded her in death two years ago in July. She came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) thirty-one years ago and resided on a farm north of here in the town of Withee until 1929, when the family moved to the village.

She leaves to mourn, four sons, Frank of Thorp, John, St. Paul, Andrew, Chicago, and Wally, Minneapolis; five daughters, Catherine (Mrs. John Kozlowski), Owen, Marie (Mrs. Ed Whipple), Mound, Minn., Julia (Mrs Peter Kochiras), Merrill, Wis., Helen (Mrs. Sam Desmonie), Chicago, and Emily (Mrs. John Stroinski), Thorp; one brother, Mike Moczadlo, Thorp; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Persak and Mrs. Frances Strzok of Thorp.

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church on Thursday morning, Sept. 4 at ten o’clock, Rev. Sczerbicki officiating, and interment following the parish cemetery nearby. Pallbearers were Wally and William Kozlowski, grandsons, Stanley Molepski, Frank Anyzewski, Jos. Pawlak and John Papierniak.
