Sluszewski, Victoria (24 DEC 1863 - 4 MAR 1942)

Mrs. Victoria Sluszewski, 78, passed away at her home in the Town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), at 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 1942, of heart disease.

The deceased was born in Poland on Dec. 24, 1863. She was united in marriage there to John Sluszewski and came to America in the year 1898. She resided at Westmoreland, Pa., for twelve years before coming to Thorp in 1910 and locating on a farm which has since been her home.

She is survived by three sons, Edward and Theodore of Thorp and Vincent of Detroit, Mich.; four daughters, Josephine, Mrs. Steve Czubakowski and Mary, Mrs. Steve Rataiczyk of Thorp, Helen, Mrs. Jos. Gibowski of Toledo, Ohio, and Violet, Mrs. Joseph Plocar of Chicago, twenty-six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Sluszewski preceded her in death several years ago.

The body lay in state at the Bogumill Funeral Home until the time of the funeral which was conducted by Rev. T. Szerbicki at St. Hedwig’s Church at Posen at ten o’clock Saturday morning, March 7th. Interment was made in the nearby cemetery. Pallbearers were Chester Rataiczyk; Steve Rataiczyk, Richard Rataiczyk, Ed Sluzewski, Jos. Plocar and Marlond Czubakowski.
