Smart, Mary E. (4 Dec. 1904 - 3 July 1955)

Mrs. Charles Smart died at her home in the town of Hull, Wisconsin Sunday morning at 9:00 o’clock at the age of 50 years after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Methodist church, Rev. Harvey Schall officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Henry Aderhold, Art Hofman, Harold Ruppert, Ed Grauman, Ed Brill and Chas. Sabler.

Mrs. Smart, the former Mary E. Fuller, was born on December 4, 1904, in the town of Hull. She attended schools in the Colby area and graduated from Central State College at Stevens Point. She taught rural schools in Clark and Marathon counties for 10 years. On June 15, 1932, she was married to Charles Smart of Colby after which they made their home on a farm in the town of Hull.

She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America and the Methodist church, of a friendly and kindly disposition who always endeavored to perform her duties in an honest and efficient manner.

Surviving are her husband; one son, Grant; one daughter, Mary Belle, at home; two brothers, W. J. Fuller of Marysville, Calif., and J. Frank Fuller of Burlington; and one sister, Mrs. William Beaver of Colby, Wis. One daughter died as a child.
