Thorson, Alice M. (15 AUG 1942)

A pretty wedding took place at the Lutheran parsonage Saturday, Aug. 15th, 1942, at 3:00 p.m., when Miss Alice Mae Thorson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Thorson of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. Raymond Raether, son of Mrs. Laura Nelson of Thorp, were united in marriage by Rev. F.H. Sprengler.

The bride was attended by the groom’s sister, Mrs. Charles Vetterkind, and the groom by Charles Vetterkind Jr.

The bride was beautifully attired in a long sleeved, white satin gown with a fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses. The bridesmaid wore a blue satin gown and carried a bouquet of flowers similar to that of the bride.

The groom and best man wore dark blue suits with white boutonnieres.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents with a wedding supper for immediate relatives and close friends. The wedding dance and shower were held at the American Legion Hall the same evening.

The couple will make their home on the groom’s up to date farm in the town of Withee.

Out of town guests were Mrs. Ben J. Short, Mrs. J.C. Ropel and Miss Helen Hemmersbach of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Hosts of friends and relatives wish the young couple much happiness and success in their journey through life.
