Swienton, Lucille C. (12 SEP 1942)

A nuptial mass read by Father S. Lengowski at St. Hedwig’s Church, joined in holy wedlock Mr. Alex Badzinski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Badzinski of the Town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and Miss Lucille Catherine Swienton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Swienton of Thorp village. The ceremony was performed at 8:00 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 12th, 1942.

The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of white slipper satin with lace insertion set in the long train. Her veil had a lace cap effect and was held by a crown of pearls and rhinestones. Her bouquet was of gladiolas, roses and baby’s breath.

The couple was attended by Anton Jacque, as best man and Miss Sylvia Swienton, sister of the bride as bridesmaid. Miss Swienton wore a pink chiffon dress with matching headband and veil. She carried a bouquet of pink gladiolas, Briarcliff roses and baby’s breath.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Stasczuk, were the other attending couple. Mrs. Stasczuk, a sister of the groom, was dressed in orchid chiffon, with matching headband and veil. Her flowers were of orchid gladiolas, hill roses and delphiniums. Miss Valentine Badzinski, maid of honor, was attired in aqua blue chiffon with headband and veil of like hue. She carried a bouquet of pink gladiolas, Briarcliff roses and baby’s breath.

The wedding reception was held at the American Legion Hall where dinner and supper was served to many relatives and friends, and a dance enjoyed in the evening.

The happy couple spent their honeymoon in the Twin Cities. They will make their home in Thorp. The groom is employed as cement finisher by the DuPont DeNemours & Co. of Rosemount, Minn.

Out of town guests attending the wedding were: Mrs. Anthony Kubera, Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. John Swienton, St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Strzok, and Mr. and Mrs. John Krupa of Gilman, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Brenner, Albertville, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Brenner, Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Badzinski, Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. S. Staszcuk, Chicago, Mrs. John Koslowski, Owen, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Koslowski, Abbotsford, and Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Moulton of Stanley.
