Walczyk, Theodore F. (14 MAR 1924 - 16 OCT 1942)

Theodore Walczyk, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Walczyk of Gilman, was instantly killed about 4:00 p.m., Friday, Oct 16th, 1942, when a .22 caliber bullet from the rifle of a hunting companion struck him in the chest. Three men were in the party hunting in the Town of Ford.

Theodore Francis Walczyk was born in Gilman, Wis., on March 14th, 1924. He graduated from the Gilman High School with the class of 1942. He was lived and respected by all who knew him.

He leaves to mourn his untimely demise, his parents, one brother, Edward of Gary, Ind., five sisters, Frances Walczyk of East Chicago, Ind., Ann Walczyk, Gilman, Mrs. Gertrude Keller, Berwyn, Ill., Mrs. Elizabeth Vereb, Gary, Ind., and Mrs. Mary Kapscukiewicz, Indiana Harbor, Ind.

Funeral services were conducted by Father W. Kolman at Sts. Peter and Paul Church at Gilman, on Monday morning, Oct. 19, at ten o’clock, with interment in the Meadow Brook Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Norbert Williger, Edward Potts, Kenneth Van den Heuvel, John Fortin, Frank Jarmolek, and Paul Potts.
