Abbotsford, Wis. - June 23, 1949

Gordon Knight left on Saturday morning to attend Boy’s State at Ripon College. A bus from Marshfield took the boys from this vicinity.

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Holtz moved to the Strange residence in the north end of town.

Arrangements have been made by Earl Johnson and A. E. Preller to take over the Kaiser-Frazer agency, formerly operated by Marten Brothers of Dorchester, Wis. The business will temporarily be located at the office and garage at the Carl Johnson home on Highway 13.

A. J. Young, Roseburg, Ore., the owner of the post office building here, has sold his property to Mrs. Louis Steiner. The new owner plans to remodel part of the building for use as a living quarters.

Remodeling work at the Abbotsford armory, including the installation of an enlisted men’s clubroom and lounge to be opened for members of the guard unit and their families on drill night only, has been completed at a total cost of approximately $8,000.

The work included repairs to the plumbing and electrical equipment, the placing of acoustic board over areas of the walls and ceiling not repainted, the building of a new concrete driveway, the painting of all outside woodwork and sanding and finishing of all floors.
